Presidio Parkway Construction
San Francisco, California

Description

Presidio Parkway is the first public-private partnership transportation project delivered in the state of California, and serves as the gateway between the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco. It replaces Doyle Drive, built in 1936. The construction improves seismic and structural integrity of the road, promotes improved traffic safety, and provides access to the Presidio and Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Construction includes the northbound Presidio Viaduct and Battery Tunnel, the Main Post Tunnels and the Girard Road Interchange. Smith-Emery provided quality assurance services for the project concessionaire, providing field inspection and testing, and laboratory testing.
