Campus Village Phase 2, San Jose State University
San Jose, California

Description

As more students began enrolling at San Jose State University, the school needed to keep pace by building additional on-campus housing. Campus Village Phase II is a 10-story, student housing building for 850 residents that include common study rooms, a lounge, a multi-purpose room, a recreation room, and other communal spaces. Smith-Emery conducted a full suite of tests for this building, that ranged from earthwork inspections to floor and roof installations, to shearwall sheathing, screws and nailing. We certified the quality of the spray-applied fireproofing, and the shop and field welding of all structural steelwork including for the stairs.
